The Hudson River School was a group of 19th century American painters who painted the awesome beauty of America’s landscapes. This screen saver contains many of the wonderful creations of Thomas Cole, Albert Bierstadt, Frederic Edwin Church, and others. I feel this has a connection to Walt Whitmans because in his poems, he speaks of America being a free country, and being so beautiful. It shows in this picture not only just waterfalls and lanscape, but a peice of land un-touched land. Walt Whitman speaks about America being a mother, he means that by being a nurture for us, America is a comforting mother that provides us with everything we need.
